In the past year I have been absent from my blog, but now Im
back and with more materials. This new re-designed ThinkInnovation is filled of
new things and I hope you like my ideas.
The new Samsung Galaxy S4 has two new features: SmartPause and Floating Touch. The SmartPause feature seems to be an upgrade from the Galaxy S3's SmartStay. The SmartPause feature purpose is to pause playback when the user looks away.
Here a video demonstrating this feature:
Next, Floating Touch, relates to the way the user interacts with the phone. Instead of touching the screen to use the phone, the user can interact with the phone without touching the screen. In other words, the user doesn't have to touch the screen.
Here a video demonstrating the feature:
As always, thanks for reading and be sure to comment your opinion on the S4 so far. What do you think about the new features?
So, the new Galaxy S4
was presented this week, with some "WOW" features and a similar design
to the S3, but this phone does not concentrate on design, the new features
include some amazing innovation.
The new S4 brings a 5
inch 1,920x1, 080-pixel HD Super AMOLED Display, with a 13 megapixel camera and
a 2 megapixel front facing camera. The phone will have a 1.9 GHz quad-core
Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series processor, and there have been rumors about an
eight-core processor. The details of this phone are not yet all clear, but they
say that they will be available for Sprint, AT&T, Verizon and T- Mobile
this upcoming April or May.
The phone brings a
2,600mAh battery, 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage and 64 GB available
through the micro SD car slot. With no surprise it brings NFC technology,
Bluetooth, WI-Fi, and obviously 4G LTE support. Price has not been yet released
but it won’t be cheaper than 199$ for a 2 year contract. This new S4 is set to
compete with the biggest phones on the market and this is a really great
quality phone with new software technology, it will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly
Bean, and the new feature Galaxy S Voice
Drive (for in-car use), new eye-tracking gestures, and new Air view gestures.
Eye-Tracking Gestures
Smart Pause, is a
feature that if you are watching a video on your phone and you stop looking at
your phone, the video automatically pauses and if you look at it again the
video continues.
Air-View Gestures
With this feature you
can use your hand to scroll up and down on the browser, and left and right when
you are watching photos.

Google recently
launched their own laptop called the Chromebook Pixel. A one of a kind laptop
in the market with an initial price of 1,299 USD for Wi-Fi only and 1,499 USD
for 4G LTE with Verizon. This is a really expensive laptop in the market but
has some unique features and the Chrome browser-based OS.
The Screen:
It has a high
definition touchscreen with a 12.85-inch, 2560x1700 display. Beautiful
touchscreen that is a big competitor for the Retina Display.
On the inside:
On the inside it
has 1.8GHz Intel Core i5 processor with an integrated HD 4000
graphics. It has two USB 2.0 ports, a combined microphone and
headphone jack, a SD card slot, and the battery lasts five hours with typical
usage.
In conclusion, the new
Chromebook Pixel is a high end laptop with a price. Has a beautiful touchscreen
and puts Google in the laptop market race. I think the Chrome OS still needs
more work but other than that this is a pretty good laptop. The Wi-Fi versions
are now available but the 4G LTE versions will be available in April.
New phone from HTC the HTC One, with a full metal body, a 4.7 inch
screen (full 1080p), 468ppi with a new version of HTC Sense (5.0) that is a new
idea for the mobile world. The new Sense 5.0 comes with a feature called
BlinkFeed that technically is a place in your phone that you can browse your favorite
topic. This phone has a camera of 4 megapixels, but there is a trick, they are
called UltraPixells that according to HTC can capture more light in a picture
than competing camera phones. The HTC One has a Camera app called Zoe witch
basically grabs your photo and puts it in a 30 second movie that you can share
with your friends.
In conclusion,
this is a very competitive phone for the market with this new HTC Sense and
Camera technology. The phone will arrive this March to the U.S. to T-Mobile,
AT&T and Sprint. There are going to be two versions, the 32GB version with
a price of $199.99 and the 64GB version with a price of $299.99.

Recently there have
been some rumors that Microsoft is working with a new gaming console, the Xbox
720. Some people say that maybe it will be released this holiday season. This
new console could be unveiled in E3 show this summer. With new specs like blue-ray,
better CPU and better graphics, we have high expectations for this new gaming
console. But after this being announced and the PS2 out of the market, there
have been talks about a new Play Station 4 in the works. It has been rumored
that it will also be unveiled in E3; I guess E3 will be very interesting this
summer.
With Play Station
winning the market race in gaming consoles, let’s see what the next generation
has to offer, what will be the next features? And would it be worth it?
The 12-Voice Virtual Analog Synthesizer, Venom, is a synth that can be also used as a MIDI controller. The list price on this thing is $549.99 but you can find it cheaper through the net on sites like Amazon.com for $315.66. Some of the key features on this 49-key Keyboard are 3 oscillators, 3 LFOs and 3 Envelopes. I know, I know... Those aren't the full features but I will like to point those out. In case you are interested in more info you can head over to the M-AUDIO site for more information.
One last feature before we move into the real business here... This synth comes with a Software called Vyzex Venom where you can further tweak sounds and create them on your PC or Mac.
So... What is the overall performance of this thing?
This keyboard performs extremely well for how affordable it is. Being completely honest, Im not a keyboardist neither a musician nor an expert on Synthesizers, but the possibilities of this keyboard are amazing. It comes with great banks of sounds for those who doesn't know that much about synthesis, like me :), but the interface is really easy and understandable for inexperienced producers. One thing that I like is how fast you can create ideas from your synth and from your DAW or Digital Audio Workstation with the MIDI capabilities of the keyboard.
Overall, great sounds and great possibilities with this tool. The ability to tweak sounds with these Envelopes is beyond amazing. Sure is, there is much more to say about this synth but for the purpose of this section we will only say that it has a rich sound, a great analog sound and something that for a bunch of people might be simple, that ARP button is awesome.
This does it for another delivery of Things I Like, know that y'all all welcome to leave comments.
